The European Commission has started to make legislative proposals to update the minimum training requirements for the veterinary profession through a draft Commission Delegated Directive aimed at amending the Professional Recognition Directive 2005/36/EC. The revision is based on the SPARK report.
The current draft is now under European public consultation on ‘Have your Say‘. The deadline to reply is 21 October 2024.

The European Coordination Committee for Veterinary Education (ECCVT), composed of EAEVE, EBVS, IVSA and FVE, reviewed the draft and agreed on a common response.
